What size luggage can I take with me?

Most airlines follow TSA guidelines which allow each passenger to have 1 carryon luggage in addition to a purse or brief case. The number of checked luggage varies by airlines. Some airlines allow 1 piece of checked luggage and other airlines allow 2 pieces. Some airlines charge extra for all checked luggage, while others charge extra for a 2nd piece of checked luggage. Carryon luggage must weight less than 40 pounds and must be less than 22” X 14” x 9”. Checked luggage must weight less than 50 pounds and must not exceed an overall size of 62 inches, which is the total of length X width X height = 62 inches. For the individual airline requirements or additional information, contact the airlines. A list of prohibited items can be found at www.tsa.gov.
